The 2017-18 Bundesliga would be the 55th competitive season of the Bundesliga, Germany's top current football division. It will begin on 18 August 2017, and conclude on 12 May 2018. Bayern Munich have entered as Defending Champions, while VfB Stuttgart and Hannover 96 entered as promoted teams from the 2016-17 2. Bundesliga.

Summary Edit

Bayern Munich would finally come second, after 5 seasons at the top, to an outstandingly young RB Leipzig team, in their second competitive season in the Bundesliga. They wrapped it up on the final day when RB Leipzig thrashed Freiburg 7-1, with Timo Werner scoring 5 in this match, and 2nd-placed Bayern Munich and 3rd-placed Dortmund drew 1-1.

The other Champions League spot went to Bayer Leverkusen, whereas Borussia Monchengladbach and Werder Bremen got the Europa League spots via the league, while Hoffenheim won the DFB-Pokal.

Hamburger went down after the 30th game, but 16th/17th place was really tight as it came down to the final day, Augsburg beat Hannover 96 on the final day, which meant Augsburg only went into relegation play-offs, while Eintracht Frankfurt lost which meant they got relegated. Augsburg later survived the play-offs.

Timo Werner of RB Leipzig won the Golden Boot and Young Player of the Year, whereas Manuel Neuer, who only conceded 14 goals all year, won player of the year.
